THE NORTHERN LIGHT
“Letters Policy:
“The Northern Light welcomes letters to the editor.
“For verification purposes, please include your name, address and daytime telephone number. Letters are limited to 350 words and may be edited or rejected for reasons of legality, length and good taste. Thank you letters are limited to five individuals or groups.
“A fresh viewpoint on matters of general interest to local readers will increase the likelihood of publication. Writers should avoid personal invective. Letters that discuss the operation of an individual business, in either a negative or positive light, will not be published. Unsigned letters will also not be accepted for publication.
“Requests for withholding names will be considered on an individual basis. Only one letter per month from an individual correspondent will be published.”

THE BELLINGHAM HERALD
“Only original, signed letters of 1,400 characters (including spaces) or less from Whatcom County residents will be considered for publication. A phone number and home street address must be included for verification..
“Letters may be edited and all submissions become the property of The Bellingham Herald. By sending this submission to The Bellingham Herald, you have represented that you are 18 years of age or older and the author and copyright owner of the submission and/or have all rights necessary to provide this submission to The Bellingham Herald and you have granted The Bellingham Herald an irrevocable, royalty-free license to publish, republish, resell, distribute, copy and edit the submission an unlimited number of times in any print, electronic or other medium.

THE FERNDALE RECORD
“LETTER TO THE EDITOR
“The Ferndale Record welcomes letters to the editor on topics of current news interest. Letters of less than 300 words are preferred. Libelous statements will be deleted. The deadline for submission is 2 p.m. Monday. Letters will not be accepted from the same household more than once every 60 days. Letters can be submitted by the form below, emailed to Brent Lindquist at brent@lyndentribune.com or to Calvin Bratt at editor@lyndentribune.com, faxed to 360-384-1417, by mail to PO Box 153, Lynden, WA 98264.”
“The Lynden Tribune welcomes letters to the editor on topics of current news interest. Letters of less than 300 words are preferred. Libelous statements will be deleted. WHATCOM WATCH:
“Deadline and Format:
- · All Letters to the Editor (LTTE) must be received by the first of the month to be considered forpublication in the following month’s edition (i.e., Jan. 1 for the February issue).
- · Attach your LTTE as a Microsoft Word and/or text document (any version), addressed toeditor@whatcomwatch.org.*LTTEs should address a topic of interest to Whatcom Watch readers or relate to a previously published article in Whatcom Watch. Be brief/succinct (no more than about 400 words) and include your full name, hometown and phone number to verify identification.
*Attach as MSWord doc (any version) or text doc or paste into the body of an email, addressed to: editor@whatcomwatch.org.
*Make subject line: Letter to the Editor
*Whatcom Watch is a progressive monthly newspaper that covers government, the environment, media and other community news in and/or related to Whatcom County.
*Editorial Prerogative: Whatcom Watch reserves the right to edit LTTE for length, factual content, typographical errors and stylistic or legal faux pas.”
CASCADIA WEEKLY
“LETTERS POLICY: Cascadia Weekly reserves the right to edit letters for length and content. When apprised of them, we correct errors of fact promptly and courteously. In the interests of fostering dialog and a community forum, Cascadia Weekly does not publish letters that personally disparage other letter writers. Please keep your letters to fewer than 300 words.”
